About Chris's Kidney Campaign
Christine Trujillo Needs A Kidney! is a campaign for finding a living kidney donor for Christine "Chris" Trujillo, a loving mother, wife, and amazing friend. Chris has an unique story to tell concerning her inherited polycystic kidney disease. Her living kidney donor match markers are extremely rare and less than 2% of the very limited pool of living kidney donors are a match. Even though the odds seem impossible to overcome, we are confident that with your help, we can find that one perfect match.
Our mission is to raise awareness about living kidney donation and to obtain the best possible outcome for Chris. We are grateful to everyone who is supporting her and helping us spread the word. We are confident that we will find a living kidney donor match for Chris and our mission will be a success!
 Thank you for your support!

About Chris
Chris Trujillo is a mother of two and grandmother of three with a passion for family, our community as President of the Craig Concert Association as well as for the great outdoors. Chris, a recent retiree after spending 41 years at Memorial Regional Health as a Physical Therapist, was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease 9 years ago. Although managing the disease as best as possible, Chris is now in need of a kidney transplant. Chris is hoping to avoid the confines of dialysis so that she may spend more time with her husband Delbert, son Tucker, her daughter Megan and son in law Zach, and her three grandchildren with activities like gardening, cooking, golfing, fishing, camping and simply enjoying time together.
About Chris's Spokeskidney
Hi, My name is Kitt and I am Chris Trujillo’s Spokeskidney. She choose me to speak on her behalf, because of my outgoing personality, my big smile, healthy appearance, and positive attitude. These positive characteristics are the complete opposite of her own kidneys, which are tired, worn out, and are barely functioning. Because of the condition of her own kidneys, Chris wanted me to let everyone know she needs a kidney transplant. Chris and her kidney campaign team are working hard to find her a living kidney donor.

Empowering People Who Have Kidney Disease

UC Health

You don’t need to be a relative in order to donate. The living donor department will test your blood type. If you are not compatible but still healthy enough to donate then paired
donation may be an option. This means you could donate to
someone else in exchange for a compatible kidney for your
recipient.

Aside from age-appropriate cancer screening, there are no out of pocket expenses for donor medical testing. Testing is covered by the recipient’s insurance once they are approved for transplant and on the list.

According to research, the risk of developing end stage kidney disease after donation is very low and kidney donors live as long as those that do not donate. Donors are evaluated thoroughly and are healthy, so this risk is lower than the general population.

It’s extremely rare, but if you develop end stage kidney disease and are in need of a kidney transplant, as a previous living donor you will take priority on the transplant list.

Generally, most donors return to work within 4-6 weeks of donation. The medical team will consider your job activity along with how you are feeling before clearing you to return to work.

Many women have donated and have had successful pregnancies with no complications post-donation. If you call our living donor department, they will give you more information about pregnancy and donation.

You should avoid using certain medications for an extended period of time but most donors can return to their normal activities, including sports and exercise, about 4-6 weeks after surgery.

Welcome to UCHealth's online health history questionnaire for living donation. Our first priority is to protect the health and well-being of potential donors. This questionnaire is CONFIDENTIAL. Only healthcare professionals from the UCHealth Living Donor Team will see your information. Your information is NOT shared with the transplant recipient or others.
Please answer all questions honestly and correctly as the information provided here will be used by our living donor team to look carefully at your medical history to make sure donation will be a safe option for you.

U.S. Navy Blue Angels 76 Years of Aviation Excellence In 1946, the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Chester Nimitz, had a vision to create a flight exhibition team in order to raise the public's interest in naval aviation and boost Navy morale. In the 1940's, we thrilled audiences with our precision combat maneuvers in the F6 Hellcat, the F8 Bearcat and the F9 Panther. During the 1950's, we refined our demonstration with aerobatic maneuvers in the F9 Cougar and F-11 Tiger and introduced the first six-plane delta formation, still flown to this day. By the end of the 1960's, we were flying the F-4 Phantom, the only two seat aircraft flown by the delta formation. In 1974, we transitioned to the A-4 Skyhawk, a smaller and lighter aircraft with a tighter turning radius allowing for a more dynamic flight demonstration. In 1986, we celebrated our 40th Anniversary by unveiling the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet. In 2021, we transitioned to our current aircraft the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet and celebrated our 75th anniversary. In 1949, it became necessary for the Blue Angels to operate a support aircraft to move personnel and equipment between show sites. These support aircraft including the Douglas R4D Sky Train, the Curtiss R5C Commando, the Douglas R5D Skymaster, and the Lockheed C-121 Super Constellation. In 1970 the team received the Lockheed Martin C-130, affectionately known as "Fat Albert." In 2020, "Fat Albert" transitioned to its current platform, the C-130J Super Hercules.

There are an estimated "50"of your neighbors in NW Colorado needing a Kidney!
Did you know that there is an estimated 50 of our neighbors in Northwest Colorado needing a kidney transplant? The wait time for a deceased kidney donor can be anywhere from 3-5 years and some times longer. Did you know there is a better way to help them? You can become a living donor and Give the Gift of Life.
You might say " If I knew one of my family, friends, neighbors or community members needed a kidney I would want to help."
Did you know that 70% of people on the Kidney Waiting List have not asked 1 person to consider donating, commonly referred to as, Share Your Spare?
Please believe me. Asking people to donate through the Living Kidney Donor Program for a matched donor kidney or through the Kidney Paired Exchange Program is one of the hardest things I have done in my life!
I am determined to speak up and find a Living Kidney Donor for myself and my 50 other NW Colorado Community Members in need.
If you are one of the 50 in NW Colorado needing a kidney transplant and would like help in finding a Living Donor or Paired Kidney Exchange, please e-mail me at

Chris Trujillo
